About the Position

The Global Infrastructure (GI) Team at Twitch is looking to hire a SR. Technical Program Manager. You will be directly involved in planning and driving execution of projects and major initiatives that leverage technology to create an amazing live streaming experience. You’ll be organizing, driving and tracking projects such as network backbone circuit growth, space & power contract status, hardware evaluation projects, Data center and PoP builds as well as many other infrastructure-related items.

The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading simultaneous medium to large projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current software, network, data center and/or hardware disciplines. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in, and get the job done.

Responsibilities

  • Drive planning and execution of major and minor projects
  • Help plan and coordinate major maintenances
  • Create weekly, monthly and other reports as requested
  • Support other Global Infrastructure TPMs
  • Develop and document processes
  • Be the source of truth and best practices

Requirements

  • Enable data-driven approach and a willingness to experiment to decide
  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management, or similar technical leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Knowledge or experience in Network Engineering or DataCenter Operations
  • Ability to manage a high volume of tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Strong organization, communication and collaboration skills
  • Effective skill at planning and executing projects to completion
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Enable data-driven approach and a willingness to experiment to decide
  • Sense of humor

Bonus Points

  • Comfort and experience with cross-organizational communication; excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced in delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment
  • Proven experience in managing large scale enterprise projects and writing public technical specifications
  • Solid foundation in service-oriented and web-service technologies to be able to understand service inter-dependencies and drive technical solutions for multi-tiered systems
  • Experience solving challenging engineering problems with multiple constraints
  • Computer networking and network architecture experience; management and design of networks at scale
  • Experience managing the lifecycle of a complex cross-functional program with considerable impact
  • Experience driving overall strategy and teams across organizations
  • Experience working independently to design, plan, and execute technical projects; able to distill data and articulate rationale for making difficult trade-offs
  • Demonstrated understanding of systems within program space to include limitations, scaling, boundary conditions, and architectural decision making process
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of technical program management and engineering best practices
